Later in the 1940s through to 1980s Newport went through turbulent times as gambling halls and Las Vegas style clubs operated through the city. Now in the in the present Newport has put in reform efforts to clean up the city leading to political and social change, the city now welcomes visitors to come and learn about the city’s history.
