Abigail has worked at My Canada Trips for four years, but she’s had a passion for travel for as long as she can remember. After studying travel and tourism at college and university, she now works as our Product Executive, building itineraries and working directly with suppliers to bring Canada trips to life. There is nowhere like Canada, and it’s a destination she has fallen in love with over the years. Her top tip? Make sure you pack layers. Temperatures can change quickly in Canada, especially between morning and evening, so having an extra jumper on hand makes all the difference.

I’ve enjoyed several memorable trips to Canada and been fortunate to experience the many contrasting – but equally impressive – ways you can explore this remarkable country. From brilliant rail journeys and coming face to face with iconic wildlife to visiting superb Saskatchewan, I hope my highlights will give you a taste of what’s on offer in Canada.
 

Breathtaking rail route to the Rockies

Canada rail holidays are some of the best ways to see so much more of what Canada has to offer compared to driving yourself. You can sit back, relax and just take it all in. Canada, especially, has some of the most spectacular landscapes and jaw-dropping views in the world. I had an amazing experience on VIA Rail’s service from Vancouver to Jasper. From waking up in the Rockies to enjoying delicious meals while socialising with other travellers in the dining cart and the domed carriage, it was fantastic and without doubt one of my most favourite experiences in Canada.
 

Jasper Wildlife Tour offers unforgettable sightings

Wildlife experiences in the Canadian Rockies are one of the highlights of a holiday in Canada. Any visit here is worthwhile, given there is so much to see and do, but the chance to spot wildlife in their natural habitat is an experience which will stay with you for a long time after you return home. During my time in Jasper, I took part in The Jasper Wildlife Tour. It was fantastic and our guide was great at telling us about the area and the local wildlife. I managed to spot elk, moose and bears! If you visit the Rockies, or indeed during any wildlife adventure in Canada, keep your phones and cameras ready to capture these beautiful animals.
 

Self-drive adventure in Saskatchewan

Canada has numerous star attractions and famous locations but venture a little further and you’ll discover some equally impressive gems. During my self-drive holiday in Canada, I visited Saskatchewan. Travelling through the open prairies was breathtaking. Driving between each location, the landscapes were vast and stretched as far as the eye could see. Spending time in this unique province also helped me to learn more about First Nations culture and I experienced life on a ranch. The ability to drive at my own pace allowed me to fully appreciate everything Saskatchewan has to offer and ensured that I enjoyed a memorable trip.
