“I’ve been working in travel for over 30 years now and been fortunate enough to travel extensively both with work and for pleasure (sometimes even combining the two)! Canada is a great place as it really can offer something for everyone, with wonderful landscapes and great cities. It also works for families or couples alike and there is always something new to discover.”
Canada has always been a firm favourite, offering wonderful contrasts and great experiences.
One of the best ways to see this vast country while also enjoying a relaxing trip is on a VIA Rail Canada journey. I’ve travelled overnight from Jasper to Winnipeg, an amazing combination of rugged peaks and wide prairie. The train really lets you feel the scale of Canada compared to the UK. The Corridor service that connects Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec City is a great way to join these interesting and very different cities. An upgrade to business class is well worth the additional cost, with comfortable seating and tasty meals included.
If you want to hit the open road, Canada fly-drive holidays and Canada motorhome holidays offer more freedom and flexibility. Among my self-drive experiences, I’ve travelled to Toronto, Niagara, and Muskoka Lakes. I love the great contrast of natural beauty and the hustle and bustle of Canada’s biggest city. Having a car also made it easy to explore small, quaint towns and secluded lakes.
Self-driving in the Rockies is a great way to see the sights at your own pace. The highlight was the Icefields Parkway from Banff to Jasper, with stops at the Columbia Icefield, Peyto Lake and the Athabasca Falls. If that wasn’t spectacular enough, I was also lucky enough to have a roadside bear sighting.
Speaking of bears, wildlife experiences in the Rockies are hard to beat. During my time in Jasper, I spotted bears, moose and elk all on the same trip, whilst also seeing some beautiful scenery.
My Canada RV road trip saw me set off from Calgary and journeying through the Rocky Mountains, Edmonton and Drumheller worked really well, giving access to lakes and mountains, and a taste of the Badlands, all within relatively short driving distances.
The team were efficient. Kevin the travel agent who booked the trip was knowledgeable, honest and gave us a variety of options.
Mr Walsh - Client
Kevin was really helpful with his knowledge of Canada. We wanted to book to visit a few different areas including the Rocky Mountaineer train from Banff. Kevin suggested doing the Ice Pathway trip from Banff to Jasper and board the train from there. Something that we wouldn't have thought of and it sounds fantastic. He also recommended bars and restaurants and booked all our trips.
