There's so much of Canada that stands out for me, but train journeys through the Rockies and exploring British Columbia and Alberta are among my most memorable trips so far.

Riding the Rocky Mountaineer's First Passage to the West

One of my most special trips was experiencing Rocky Mountaineer's First Passage to the West, taking in Vancouver and journeying deep into the Rockies. It's hard to beat watching the scenery shift from coastal city to towering mountain peaks from the comfort of the train, and it gave me a real appreciation for just how varied this country is within a single journey.

Alberta and British Columbia have given me some of my favourite Canada memories. Banff and Lake Louise are every bit as spectacular as their reputation suggests, but it was Emerald Lake that really stayed with me – a little quieter than its more famous neighbours, but just as breathtaking.

Onward to the Rockies to the Red Rocks

I had the pleasure of experiencing Canyon Spirit: Rockies to the Red Rocks, Rocky Mountaineer’s USA equivalent, finishing with a stay in Las Vegas. It was a brilliant way to see how the two countries' landscapes connect, and it's given me a real feel for how a Canada holiday can be extended for those wanting to see even more.
