Scenic Train Journeys

I’ve been lucky enough to travel on both VIA Rail and the world-famous Rocky Mountaineer – the ultimate scenic train journeys in Canada. They provided me with unforgettable experiences as I was able to sit back and admire stunning landscapes while travelling in comfort.

During my VIA Rail experience, I travelled on The Canadian from Vancouver to Toronto. I stayed in a cabin for two people which was great. The cabin featured bunk beds with my own toilet and wash hand basin. For a truly luxurious rail journey, a Rocky Mountaineer holiday is a must-do experience in Canada. I travelled on First Passage to the West, taking me from Vancouver to Banff. I sampled both Goldleaf Service and Silverleaf Service, with each offering delicious meals, excellent service from the friendly and knowledgeable onboard hosts, all while you admire spectacular views.

Both VIA Rail and Rocky Mountaineer train journeys are very different but amazing experiences. The scenery when you are heading into the Rockies is unbelievable and the food on both trains is incredible.

Hitting the open road

Among my favourite journeys is a British Columbia road trip and exploring one of Canada’s most beautiful provinces. During my fly-drive holiday, I visited the Sunshine Coast. Every moment in this adventure was spectacular, including Halfmoon Bay, Madeira Park, Egmont and finally travelling over to Vancouver Island. As I’ve experienced, no two trips to Canada should be the same. My aim is always to create a holiday that feels personal, seamless and memorable from start to finish.
