Alaska Cruise and Stay 2026, 2027 and 2028

For many travellers, the most rewarding way to experience the Pacific Northwest and the Last Frontier is an Alaska cruise and stay holiday – combining time afloat along the Inside Passage with days exploring ashore. At  My Canada Trips, we tailor-make every itinerary around you.

Some cruise and stay packages are built around the legendary Rocky Mountaineer through the Canadian Rockies; others favour a fly-drive extension, an escorted tour, or simply extra nights in Vancouver and Victoria. There's no single template, only the itinerary that suits you.

Whatever shape your Canada and Alaska cruise and stay takes, it's brought together by specialists who've sailed these waters and travelled these routes themselves, drawing on decades of first-hand experience.

Glacier Bay & Tracy Arm

Few sights compare to watching a tidewater glacier calve into the sea. Glacier Bay National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the narrow, ice-carved fjord of Tracy Arm both reveal Alaska's wilderness at its most dramatic – sheer granite walls, hanging glaciers and waters scattered with brash ice. Keep watching for seals resting on ice floes as you cruise through.

Whale & Wildlife Watching

Alaska's waters are some of the richest on earth for marine life. Humpback whales breach alongside the ship, orcas glide through glacial fjords, and Steller sea lions haul out on rocky outcrops as you sail past. Shore excursions bring you closer still, with bald eagles overhead and brown bears fishing for salmon along the coastline.

Historic Gold Rush Ports

Skagway's boardwalks and false-fronted buildings still echo the Klondike Gold Rush, while the White Pass & Yukon Route railway climbs into the mountains above town. Juneau blends frontier history with wilderness on its doorstep, from the Mendenhall Glacier to whale-watching excursions. In Ketchikan, totem poles and a board-walked waterfront tell the story of the region's Indigenous heritage and fishing past.

Rocky Mountaineer Rail Journey

For those who want to extend their journey inland, the Rocky Mountaineer offers a spectacular way to see the Canadian Rockies before or after your cruise. Travelling by daylight through mountain passes, river canyons and glacier-fed valleys, it's available as an optional add-on for those wanting to combine coastal Alaska with the scenery of Banff, Jasper or Lake Louise.

What our Canada experts say...

Canada Expert Julie

My Alaska Cruise and Stay Experience By Julie

Before boarding my cruise, I spent time exploring Vancouver's highlights, including the Totem Poles at Stanley Park and the markets at Granville Island. I also enjoyed a day trip to Whistler, driving along the scenic Sea to Sky Highway before spending a few hours exploring the alpine town itself. The perfect way to experience Canada before my Alaska cruise.

Sailing to Alaska with Holland America Line was spectacular. Getting up close to the glaciers and watching whales from my balcony gave me memories I'll treasure for years.
