During the first three weeks of February, Ottawa turns into a winter wonderland as everyone celebrates Winterlude! Enjoy ice skating on the Rideau Canal, viewing the spectacular ice sculptures and exploring the local markets. To heat up in the winter chill enjoy the famous Beaver Tails pastries with a hot chocolate. Winterlude Festival is a true Canadian winter experience and is a must do when visiting eastern Canada!

Day 2 - Winter in Ottawa
Ottawa is the capital of Canada situated in Ontario near the border of Quebec, rich in heritage Ottawa is home to a variety of heritage sites and famous landmarks including the Rideau Canal. During the winter months the Rideau Canal freezes over and becomes the world’s largest naturally frozen ice rink! Open in January and February depending on the weather the rink is free to skate on and ice skates can be booked locally.
