Ashland is a city in southern Oregon. It’s known for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Southwest of downtown, leafy Lithia Park surrounds Ashland Creek and features trails, duck ponds and a rose garden. To the northeast, North Mountain Park has a nature centre and themed gardens, like the butterfly and herb gardens. At the Science Works Hands-On Museum, kids can build and experiment in the Da Vinci’s Garage space.

Summer also means it’s time for the Ashland Area Farmer’s Market, held every Saturday from mid-June through mid-October on 6th Ave West and Main Street, in downtown Ashland. This wonderful weekly event featuring music, kids’ chalk activities, fresh produce, fruit, maple syrup, dried flowers, plants, and many homemade items.
