North Battleford, Saskatchewan

North Battleford is the home of one of four branches of the Saskatchewan Western Development Museum. This branch focuses on the agricultural history of Saskatchewan, including a pioneer village. A prominent feature is the former Saskatchewan Wheat Pool grain elevator No. 889 from Keatley, Saskatchewan. The grain elevator was moved to the museum grounds in 1983.

The North Battleford Civic Centre, a 2,500-seat multi-purpose arena, is home to the Battlefords North Stars ice hockey team of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. It is also home to the North Battleford Kinsmen Indoor Rodeo, held annually in April.

Uncover the role of Fort Battleford in the 1885 Resistance and explore its history through shared perspectives at Fort Battleford National Historic Site. The fort was established in 1876 and presided over some of the most pivotal events in the history of Western Canada. First Nations, Métis, Northwest Mounted Police, and settler stories are interwoven into Fort Battleford’s difficult history.

North of town and on the north shore of Jackfish Lake, we find The Battlefords Provincial Park – the perfect place to immerse in great outdoors. Featuring excellent camping, beautiful beaches and picnic areas, world-class fishing, 18-hole golf course, disc golfing and much more, The Battlefords Provincial Park offers something for everyone.
