Prince Albert National Park, Saskatchewan

Prince Albert National Park is a nearly 4,000-square-kilometre big natural gem that is also called the gateway to Saskatchewan’s wild and forested North. We find a mosaic of forests, tundra moss, lakes and even beautiful beaches that make up the boreal forest and are hard to beat for beauty.

Waskesiu Lake is a lake located roughly in the centre of Prince Albert National Park. The resort town of Waskesiu on its eastern shore is the perfect gateway to the national park.

The opportunities to explore and play are limitless. Waskesiu has something for everyone including quiet hikes in the northern boreal forest, adventures on the lake enjoying your favourite water sports, a day on one of Saskatchewan’s premier golf courses, good times on the beach, and the glow of an evening lake sunset. Visit, during the winter season to experience the fabulous cross country and snowshoe trails in Prince Albert National Park.

With seven sandy beaches that grace the shores of Waskesiu Lake and many more located on Crean, Kingsmere and other lakes in the park, it's hard to pick just one to spend a lazy afternoon. The park offers some of the most beautiful sandy beaches anywhere in Saskatchewan, and we're sure you will agree.

Prince Albert National Park offers a 120 km trail network made up of 17 trails varying in length and level of difficulty. Too much to choose from, but that's the great thing about coming to Waskesiu. Exploring the natural lay of the land and getting some much-needed exercise is what is it all about.
