Day 2 - Matanuska Glacier Guided Walk

Take a hike on the Matanuska Glacier, Alaska's largest road-accessible glacier! We supply all glacier gear and provide the only Wilderness First Responder and Glacier Trekking and Rescue trained Glacier Experts guiding on the Matanuska Glacier year-round. The 6:1 guest to guide ratio offers you the best photo opportunities of the valley, meltwater pools, ice caves, and other ice formations. Shuttle from Anchorage with local Alaskans and lunch at a lodge overlooking the glacier is included.

Walking on ice is slippery fun, guests will be provided with helmets, a trekking pole (walking stick) and microspikes that attach to your shoes. Guests are required to bring sturdy footwear (stiff-soled hiking boots or shoes) and suggest that you bring an extra pair of socks. Don't be surprised if your shoes get covered with glacial flour. This glacial till is finely ground rock the glacier has created - it makes for great facials! This tour does require walking on uneven surfaces for at least 2 hours - guests must be able bodied. Snacks and water are provided on your tour.

Day 3 - Prince William Sound from Anchorage by Rail

Depart Anchorage by rail for an adventure into the exciting world of Alaska's wildlife. The 26 Glacier Cruise travels over 140 miles into Prince William Sound where you will see 26 "named" glaciers and many more. Get face to face with these towering masses of ice, so close you can hear the glaciers move and gaze at their brilliant blue hues. On the 26 Glacier Cruise, you'll see several types of glaciers, including Alpine (hanging), Piedmont and Tidewater. Glacier calvings (when broken pieces of ice fall into the water and become icebergs) are normally seen on each cruise.

Day 4 - Discover Denali Flightseeing

At a formidable 20,320 feet tall, Denali is the Centrepiece of Denali National Park, and you'll get the best view on a Denali flightseeing tour with Rust's! Soar to new heights on the intimate, 3-hour Discover Denali Flightseeing Tour with an experienced Alaska bush pilot who loves to share Alaska's most inaccessible and spectacularly-wild settings. This is one of our most popular tours.

Flight Pattern: Depart Lake Hood, Anchorage's lively seaplane airport, traverse the flatlands across Cook Inlet (possible Beluga whales), spotting for moose and, depending on the time of year and weather, and follow the ragged spine of the Alaska Range with its massive walls of rock and ice to the crowning jewel, Mount Denali. The photo stop landing location varies seasonally and is dependent on weather.
